Happy Relationship Week

Make special time for each daughter. Do this about 4 months after their birthday - so for Sophia it will be in late-April and for Olivia it will be in mid-May.

Each child picks a date and gets to plan a whole day of activities with me. Could be hiking, stay in pajamas all day and play games, or make sundaes after a long bike ride.

May 3, 2018:

After interviewing some seniors at the nursing home for a legacy project, Sophia wanted to go to Dairy Queen for lunch. For a special treat, we had a S'mores Blizzard.

Sophia suggested going on a walk. We ended up going down 133 steps to see the Osceola waterfall.

There was a narrow spot of sandy land that Sophia walked on to get behind the waterfall.

It would be fun next time we visit the waterfall to bring boots so we could go even further behind the waterfall.

We continued on the walkway that followed the river. There were squirrels running around, birds flying overhead, and the sun was out. It was a beautiful day.

We saw white daisies and yellow marsh flowers. There were green plants and horsetail plants along the river.

Afterwards, we walked up the 133 steps to get back to the street. We visited a new store that we hadn't been to, and enjoyed seeing the items for sale - including a singing bowl which Sophia played. You tap the bowl with a little stick and then move the stick around the lip of the bowl. The sound continues to be heard for a little while.

We had a nice afternoon together.
