Sophia Laying Out Her Quilt

This is the quilt that Sophia is working on for the county fair. She picked out the fabric, measured, cut, pinned, and is sewing the pieces together.

The top of the quilt is made from 100% cotton fabric; and the backing is flannel - so she has two different textures to her quilt which is nice.

She's very excited to see it come together. It's the largest quilt she's made to date.

I love all Sophia's PINK! Flannel backing always warms and snuggles!

I have always wanted to learn to quilt. I think that I am going to have to do that. :)

I just found your blog and I love it.

Pom Pom, Sophia's favorite color is pink. It was her idea to do the fannel backing because she likes the warmth and how it feels. She is happy with how it turned out.

Thanks, Joi, for visiting! Do give quilting a try. My daughters love finding the fabric, creating the pattern, and sewing the pieces together. The reward is a nice, warm quilt. It doesn't have to perfect...just something that you will enjoy using.

I'd be excited too! I'm so intimidated by quilting but I really really want to try it sometime. It looks like it will be beautiful!

This looks amazing. I wish I could sew, I only can do some basic sewing and even then I have to struggle with the maschine. I prefer sewing by hand.
