The 1,037 books that Sophia, Olivia, and I collected are helping create the first-ever library at the primary school that serves 251 children and 5 teachers.
Olivia and Sophia by the 20 boxes filled with 1,037 books
and learning materials for children in Quthing, Africa,
where we are creating a library.
Although we worked on packing the books during the entire week, when it came to Friday afternoon we were nervous about being able to finish on time. We wanted to write 20 letters and enclosed 20 pictures - one per box we were sending - so the children and their teachers could learn a little more about the United States, Minnesota, where we live, and our family.
By 3:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon - 1 1/2 hours before the post office closes - we breathed a sigh of relief. All the boxes were packed, delivered to the post office, and officially on their way to Africa.
