B is for Baking - A to Z April Challenge

One of the desserts that Sophia baked recently was a cookie-candy pizza. The recipe is from Betty Crocker. It's very easy to make and delicious.

We brought the cookie-candy pizza to a potluck last Friday, and the entire dessert was eaten. Clearly, a good sign that people enjoyed it.

that she made.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 package (12-ounce size) miniature semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
1 cup sweetened whipped cream (we used vanilla frosting instead)
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (we did not include these)
1/4 cup flaked or shredded coconut, toasted (we did not toast the coconut)
1/2 cup candy-coated chocolate candies (we used the miniature-size candies)

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º F. Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour and baking soda (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips. Spread or pat dough in ungreased 12-inch pizza pan or on cookie sheet.
Bake about 15 minutes or until golden brown; cool in pan.

Just before serving, spread cookie with whipped cream. Top with walnuts, coconut and candies. Cut into wedges. Immediately refrigerate any remaining cookie after serving.

Sounds delicious (well apart from the coconut - I have a thing against flaked coconut :) - do you think it would work with toasted almonds instead). I'm doing C is for Cakes tomorrow, I love baking and I shall have to try this recipe at some point. Thank you for sharing.
