I will start to follow your blog, as I love crafting and do homeschooling as well.
Next week I start to give an embroidery workshop for homeschooling kids in our community and will show them your work as one of the examples for the "laid and couched stitch."
Are you at fb, so that I can updates of your work there?
I hope you agree if I share your photo at my facebook page - with FULL CREDITS, of course.
Smiles from Israel,
HomaniAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07671319963228537115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5336200906971083995.post-42368838639631708322012-03-08T04:48:01.356-06:002012-03-08T04:48:01.356-06:00Thank you for all the kind comments! I enjoyed learning the couching stitch - it's one of the favorite ones I've done so far.

Anneliese, you asked what kind of paper I'm using for the journal. When I started it, I looked for what I had on hand - a simple composition book. It has lined paper, and some of the first weeks I didn't cover the lines with other paper.

Around the third or fourth week I began covering the lined paper with background papers (e.g., images from magazines, copies of photos, covers of greeting cards, scrapbook paper).

On top of that, I put the embroidery samples, journal entry, and gratitude list. So, the pages are turning out rather thick.

In retrospect, I would use thicker, plain white paper that has a spiral binding or something that can expand a bit (rather than fixed binding like a composition notebook). It would also give a bit more space to work with which would be nice.Harvest Moon by Handhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18026575111937500816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5336200906971083995.post-30212767570077621482012-03-08T04:13:20.109-06:002012-03-08T04:13:20.109-06:00I love how you are doing your journal of stitches....I love how you are doing your journal of stitches. I learned how to do a few stitches and the french knot. The teacher mentioned couching but I didn't have a chance to practice it. Now I have your great photos and instructions to help me!Carolyn Dubehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16604028900191854482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5336200906971083995.post-85349709739968105042012-03-06T14:52:10.456-06:002012-03-06T14:52:10.456-06:00wonderful stitching and I love your idea of puttin...wonderful stitching and I love your idea of putting it into an embroidery journal.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04865313831122803898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5336200906971083995.post-36701391509089304682012-03-05T23:29:37.038-06:002012-03-05T23:29:37.038-06:00those are stunning!!those are stunning!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5336200906971083995.post-31537419997786373982012-03-05T17:26:31.459-06:002012-03-05T17:26:31.459-06:00Beautiful!
