Someone gave me a recipe for dandelion jelly that I've been meaning to try with my girls. I remember visiting your site frequently a while back ago, when I was really more into following along with a Waldorf Education (http://faulkner-family.blogspot.com) but it's been some time. How lovely to see you at Barb's Handbook of Nature Study Carnival! A couple years ago, I shared a story with my children about a dandelion I found at another Waldorf mama's site (Our Little Nature Nest, maybe?) about Star Children. I wish I still had it - it was wonderful!
THank you for the information and the neat recipes!! I received a Farmer's Almanac from my grandmother it was filled with facts and recipes for dandelions. I believe we made a pretty jelly, and tried a fritter recipe but it was not very tasty.
I still pick young tender dandelion leaves to add to my salad and sauteed greens.I love the slight bitter tang they add. You must pick them young or they will not do.
Thanks for the pleasant memories your story invokedNancy Pace Arthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02397773131535945852noreply@blogger.com
